As we head into the 2013 fishing season we are hit with low temperatures, blowing wind and even a little snow in the Virginia forecast!
This is the perfect time to head to some of the local fishing shows and first up was the Richmond Fishing Expo.
For those of you that don’t know, I am a recent addition to the Hobie Fishing Team Pro Staff. This is pretty exciting news for me because I get to represent a company who's customer support is the best in the business! Also because I believe they make the best fishing kayaks in the business!
A small part of being on a Pro-Staff is supporting your local sponsor at fishing shows, product demo days and fishing seminars. Appomattox River Company is my local sponsor and I had such a great time at this show promoting Hobie fishing kayaks. ARC had an awesome booth display and was without a doubt the #1 booth at the show!
The Hobie Pro Angler 12 was on display along with the Revolution 13. Fellow kayaker and Hobie Pro Staff member Chuck Wrenn was also there to support ARC and Hobie.

The best part of this show for me was being able to PRO-mote a product I use on a daily basis. In the photo below you will count 12 people checking out the new Pro Angler 12 with all the YakAttack accessories installed. This kayak didn't go to long without someone wanting to know more!

As I mentioned above, one of the responsibilities of being part of a pro-staff is participating in fishing seminars. I was there to take part in a seminar that had some of the best kayak fisherman around! To give and get advice from guys like Vic Sorenson, Jay Brooks, Aaron Dryden, Chuck Wrenn and the always entertaining Chad Hoover (who's forgotten more about kayak fishing than I know) was the highlight of the show for me!
I want to take some time to give a big THANK YOU to Vic Sorenson from Appomattox River Company for the sponsorship help!
Now if only the weather will cooperate so I can get out on the water with friends and family! Not much can beat hearing someone yell that their HOOKED UP!
Nice report Joe! I look forward to many fish filled reports in the future.
ReplyDeleteNicely done Joe - looking forward to hitting the water with you again soon.
